a recognized and highly credible belt promotion system.
connection with a strong competitive team with numerous partner schools.
A Legacy of Excellence in BJJ
Let's talk about the SAS Team. These guys are straight-up legends. Their lineage traces back to the very origins of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Brazil.
Master Francisco Viera Sá was born in the remote town of Senador Pompeu, about 200 km from the city of Fortaleza, on December 17, 1935. His first had contact with the sport came through magazine publications in “Cruzeiro” in which Hélio Gracie showed various techniques and talked about BJJ.
Master Sá went on to study under Takeo Iano in Recife, before opening his academy in Fortaleza. Eventually reaching the rank of Red Belt, Master Sá was the pioneer of Jiu Jitsu in northeast Brazil, whose tradition is carried on by his sons: Professor Carlos Pinto Sá “Sazinho” (6th degree Black Belt) in Fortaleza, and Professor Guybson Sá (2X World Champion, 2 x Champion, Brazilian Nationals, 12 x Champion, North American Grappling Association, among other accolades) in South Carolina.
As for my own BJJ journey, I trained under Sazinho and Guybson, and earned all of my belts, up through Black Belt, in Fortaleza in a lineage descending from Master Sá. For me, joining SAS Team is like coming home to great friends and the feeling of family.
I am so excited to see Fight Flow join with SAS Team, and for the benefits that our students will experience.
This partnership opens up a world of opportunities. You'll be learning from a lineage that goes all the way back to the founders of Brazilian Jiujitsu. You'll also have the chance to compete as part of a legendary team. And let's not forget, you'll be part of a community that values not just technique, but also character and respect.
Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, keep rolling!
Congratulations! So cool that you get to connect FFA with your Brazilian martial arts family 🙂
